Darkness to Light

The cut company is honored to be producing video with our new client, Darkness to Light. "D2L" is an organization that raises awareness of the prevalence and consequences of child sexual abuse by educating adults about the steps they can take to prevent, recognize and react responsibly to the reality of child sexual abuse.

Why is this important?

I was thrilled when my friend Tyler Gilliam, Darkness to Light's Social Media Director and all around badass, invited me to learn more about their yearly Gala, and their needs for a video produced for the event.

Production work like this for me, is rewarding because it allows for:
1 - Making a difference.
2 - Collaborating with other creative & high functioning people.
3 - The opportunity to expose my work to many.

Bang.

Charleston SC is the home, the flagship (if you will) of Darkness to Light - a beacon amid country wide offices.

Each year they hold a Gala. A big, beautiful, chic Circle of Light Gala. This year theme is "An Evening in Paris", presented by title sponsor CNN - Thursday, November 15, 2012, 6:30p @ Meminger Auditorium. It will be attended by over 450 business leaders. It is a world-class charity event featuring an evening of fine dining, spectacular entertainment, an "edge of your seat" auction and a lively "after party". This event raises up to $500,000 to protect children from sexual abuse! TALK ABOUT MAKING A DIFFERENCE!

Olympic Gold Medalist, figure skater & and all around humanitarian Scott Hamilton is this year's CNN Voice of Courage Award Winner. The Circle of Light auction features extraordinary trips and luxury merchandise. Orient Express Hotels, Delta Airlines and many other high-end merchants have come together to make this a very special auction for a very special cause.

So here is what we will be doing: creating a short video piece for the event highlighting Charleston's most killer Chef's - from Marc Collins at Circa 1882 to Nico Romo at Fish, and around 10 others - Tristan, Magnolias, Grill 225, O-Ku, etc. These chef's are providing the meals for the event - and I am going to find out why, then make it exciting for people to watch on video - which will be screened at the event, and then across the web, ie.
