What a blast last night.
People kept telling me that this was important to them. That they loved Pecha Kucha. I thought that was pretty dang cool. It isnt easy to get a couple of hundred artists anywhere without at least a few eyes rolling into the backs of heads. But Pecha Kucha is fun, very well done, authentic, and a great time. And yes, very important.
This is huge for Charleston's creative cluster, and for life in general.
Thank you so much to everyone that works so hard on this - Beth Merideth, Robert Prioleau, Steve Warner, Olivia Pool, Patrick Bryant, and a host of others.
I will forever be old school - part of the original, Pecha Kucha 1 original presenters. (Death and Life) and continue to help with the event, film it, and promote it.
Olivia and I filmed all night for our lil' new project "video babies"....and should have some cool new videos on the Charleston Inspired website and elsewhere real soon.
ps - the twitter feed was hys-terical. I wrote a funny rated R+ one and there were breaks in time where people were cracking up at what others were twittering. Also, the posters and buttons were DOPE!
